Mockingjay and other books

I finished Mockingjay today. It's the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy. Some books I read because I can't put them down--this one I listened to on CD. I listened because I was intrigued as to how it would turn out. I really didn't like the first book--Hunger Games. I thought it was dark and a bit depressing. My book club chose it, I was on a long trip, so I plowed through it. Then, Catching Fire came in, a book on cd. I had originally requested in from the library before bookclub said, oops, that's the second one. So, I loaded the cds into my computer and after stopping and starting at least once, I because interested enough to finish that book. It took several weeks for Mockingjay to come in. Evidently these books are all the rage. When it finally came in on the library it was the holidays and I was in the middle of East (see previous post--a book that I had a hard time putting down). After the first of the year I decided to give Mockingjay a listen, just so I'd know how it turned out. After piddling around for 2-3 weeks, I just put it on today (it's on my ipod) and finished up the last 4 cds. I'm glad I finished it. It was mostly fulfilling. It seemed to want to have some deep meaning--not buying that aspect. And now I can move on to the two books I'm reading:

Seven Miracles that Saved America, and

Extraordinary Ordinary People (memoirs of Condoleeza Rice).

Plus, I've got Spirit of the Wind loaded and ready to go on my ipod. Should be a fun few weeks!

I think that should be Shadow of the wind. I need to get that from you. The only time I give myself to read is when I am working out and book on CD is better than trying to read while bouncing up and down on an elliptical.
