July 4th Parade

We had a lovely Independence Day. It started bright and early with Frank and Caleb helping to set up flags throughout the neighborhood. Such a lovely sight. Then, because we were up so early anyway, we ate breakfast with the neighbors at 7:30. Yummy breakfast casserole, lots of fruit, and bagels and cream cheese.

Dinah was asked to be at the West Jordan parade gathering site by 9:15. Sarah had agreed to be one of the adults walking the parade route with the kids. As we were pulling out of the driveway, about 9:17, my cell phone rang. It was Justin Osmond, checking to see if we were planning to be there. He and his brother are heading up the Pioneer Pageant, which will perform at the WJ rodeo arena on July 21, 23, and 24.

Dinah has been rehearsing since May. Lots of singing and dancing. They’ve rehearsed every night this week, but it’s been right here at the park across the street from our neighborhood, instead of the 20 minute drive to Riverton—in past weeks. She’s at it all day to day—having a blast!

Dinah participated in the parade, to help advertise the pageant.

They were right near the end. It was hot, but fun.

That night we went to the West Jordan PRCA rodeo—“I love rodeo!” Great bulls, tough cowboys, fantastic bullfighter clowns.

Fireworks to finish off the night.

Happy Birthday, America!
