October Sky

I’ve come to the conclusion that the most dramatic change of seasons is from Summer to Fall.  Last week was still very summer-ish. Sunday was lovely, 80-ish. That evening the wind hinted of a coming change. Monday was pleasant. That night the winds shifted and change was definitely in the air. Yesterday (Oct 4)  felt different. It wasn’t the just morning rain. The air seemed static, full of energy. Thunder in the afternoon, windy as I went to bed. This morning, Fall is here. The skies are proclaiming that summer has come to a glorious end.  (Both of these pictures are this morning’s sunrise, taken on the way to pick up carpool, about 7:30 a.m.)

A musical term for and extended ending is Coda. September was our Coda. Oh how lovely it was-- Tomatoes, cucumbers, BYU football, lovely evenings.

Welcome Fall—pumpkins, chilly mornings, crisp afternoons, more BYU football—I’ll actually put on that jacket that I’ve taken to all the games thus far, two family birthdays, on the same day actually, Halloween, and my favorite holiday—Thanksgiving.
