We’re waiting for Sharon and Gardner to come back from their apartment. They stopped by here on their way home from their church service. Gardner was raised United Unitarian. They attend here, the service is in English. They headed home to change clothes and bring supplies for our spaghetti dinner this afternoon.
S0….I’m reviewing pictures and I realized that I didn’t post about our trip to Cardston, Alberta, Canada this past August. We drove up with Sarah, Caleb and Dinah to attend cousin Amy’s wedding. It seems she fell in love with a wonderful man……from France. That would have been pretty manageable, except that he had previously overstayed his visa while in the US, and now he was unable to get back into the country. Amy met him at church while she was visiting her brother, Michael…..in France. Well, he had no problem getting into Canada, and he has family in Cardston. So, we all gathered there.
We took a day and a half driving up. We spent the night in Dillon, partly because Frank just loves Dillon (not!) and because that was far enough along the way to give us time to spend in Glacier Nat’l Park the next day. I hadn’t been back to GNP since I worked there the summer of 1979. I was a maid at Many Glacier Hotel.
We cut up just before Missoula and entered the park at West Glacier. Oh my goodness, the scenery along that “blue road” was spectacular!

Going to the Sun Highway—Sarah drove.
I’d forgotten how narrow the road really is, and how spectacular the view is!
We’re not sure why Frank was in the car. Perhaps because it was 40 degrees outside? We had to keep reminding Sarah that she couldn’t take a day hike. We had to be at a wedding the next day!
Many Glacier Hotel!
It looked exactly the same on the outside, a few updates inside. How could it have been 32 years since I spent a magical summer here?
O Canada!

Caleb and Dinah waited patiently outside during the ceremony. Dinah had my camera.
Mr and Mrs Jeanpierre van Tonder!
Family is forever!
