A Day at Lava--2011

Yesterday was our annual trip to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Lori and I have been meeting there on a Tuesday in July for several years. It’s a day of total sun and relaxation. It was raining as we left West Jordan, but we carried on, expecting the best—and it was. A bit cloudy as we arrived, warned by the cashier that if the 30% chance of a thunderstorm came to pass they would close the pool for at least 30 minutes. The clouds came and went for a while, accompanied by a lovely breeze. Mostly overcast for about 45 minutes with a few gentle gusts, and then the rest of the afternoon was perfect. The water temperature is just exactly right, warm enough to walk right in to, cool enough to be refreshing. The kids had a blast on the boards, platforms and slides. The grandbabies loved the water and their floaties. Lava lets us bring our own picnic inside with us. The company was unmatched!
