Caleb and Dinah headed back to school today—without me. For the past five years, I’ve been teaching elementary music at the charter school that they attend. I took a deep breath last spring, and after adding up the pro and con columns, I told the administration that I would not be coming back in the Fall. I’m tired of meeting myself coming and going. Between teaching at the school all morning and then teaching my private students in the afternoon/evening, I had no time to go to the temple, do my visiting teaching, cook dinner, sew, can, and be a Grandma. So today is back to the basics for me. I was a very at-home Mom when my children were little, and now I’m back home again. It feels nice!
